Condition Guide
At TCGPlus, every card is carefully inspected and condition is determined in-house to ensure accuracy and consistency. We evaluate each card based on surface wear, edges, corners, and overall presentation so you know exactly what to expect.
To make things even clearer, we categorize each card using standardized condition tiers and provide detailed descriptions to help you better understand what each grade means. This allows you to easily compare cards and feel confident in how condition is represented across our site.
Near Mint (NM) cards show minimal wear from handling or play. They may have slight edge wear or minor surface scratches, but overall appear unplayed with no major defects.
Lightly Played (LP) cards may have minor edge wear, scuffs, or surface scratches. Noticeable imperfections may be present, but none are severe, and the card maintains its overall structure and appearance.
Moderately Played (MP) cards may have noticeable edge wear, surface wear, scratches, scuffing, or light creasing. More visible imperfections such as bends or minor damage may be present, but the card maintains its overall structure and integrity.
Heavily Played (HP) cards show significant wear, including creasing, whitening, and other noticeable imperfections. Cards may have multiple flaws or more severe defects, but they remain structurally intact and can still be authenticated.
Damaged (DMG) cards show wear or imperfections beyond the standards of other conditions. Major defects such as heavy wear, bends, tears, or other damage may be present, and the card’s structure or integrity is impacted.
